Announcements for Week Ending Sept. 4

Religion School Off to Great Start!

Religion School began Sunday with the kids planning a mitzvah project to collect canned foods and other non-perishable food items for the local Food Bank. Donations will be accepted from now until Yom Kippur. Many grocery stores are having buy-one, get-one specials and the kids hope you will help them out by getting one for their mitzvah project when you buy one for yourself. Look for the decorated collection boxes at the synagogue.

Wednesday Classes Have Different Start Time

Don’t forget that Wednesday Hebrew School now begins at 6 p.m. and will end at 7:30 p.m. for students first grade and above.

Come Meet Our New Visiting Rabbi

Make plans to be at the synagogue on Tuesday evening, Sept. 7, at 7:30 p.m. You’ll have an opportunity to meet and welcome our new visiting rabbi, Aderet Drucker, and her husband Brett, on their first visit to Shomrei Torah. We’ll have some light refreshments, and then you can use your furniture moving or supervisory skills and help set out the chairs and prayer books for the next day’s Erev Rosh Hashanah service.
