<p><strong>Saturday, Feb. 11:</strong>  Shabbat morning services, featuring a D’var Torah by Richard Morris, will begin at 9:30 a.m., and will be followed by a Kiddush lunch sponsored by Carol Chenoweth and Ray Chambers.</p>
<p><strong>Saturday February 11</strong>: <em>Free Wine &amp; Cheese Tasting</em> Fund Raising Event to Benefit local PJ Library Program, 5:00 – 7:30 pm at Temple Israel</p>
<p>The Tallahassee section of the National Council of Jewish Women is sponsoring this fundraising event to raise money to provide free monthly books to all Jewish children in our community, up to the age of 6, who enroll in the PJ Library program.  There will be a silent auction featuring a week’s stay at an NYC condo, a day of kayaking on the Wakulla River &amp; Judaic woodworks, as well as many, many local items from local artists, restaurants etc.  The last 30 minutes of the event will feature a live auction.</p>

<p><strong>Ritual Vice President Andrea Caufield</strong> invites any adults or young adults who would like to participate in the March 7 Purim service by singing a few short verses in Hebrew, to learn the melody with Andrea.  We will be singing in small groups and Andrea will be singing along with us.  So be brave and join us in this fun learning experience and keep our traditions alive.  Andrea will teach the melody on the following Sundays:  <strong>February 12th, 19th, 26th, and March 4th</strong> from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Shomrei Torah.  Please call Andrea Caufield at 329-6394 (evenings) to sign up.</p>

<p><strong>Friday, March 2: </strong>Rabbi Jordan Hersh will visit Shomrei Torah.  At 6:30 p.m., we’ll have a pot-luck picnic dinner outside in Shomrei Torah’s back yard.  Please bring either a pareve (non-dairy / non-meat dish) or dairy dish to share (no meat, please), and we’ll enjoy everyone’s cooking in the great outdoors.  It is permissible to bring food prepared in a non-kosher kitchen. Please label dishes that are dairy, for the benefit of those who cannot eat dairy products.  No desserts, please (we have a delicious dessert oneg after services!)  Don’t worry about the weather – we have hired a tent in case of rain.</p>
<p><strong>Sunday, March 4: </strong>Annual Purim Carnival.</p>
<p><strong>Wednesday, March 7:</strong>   We invite everyone to join in the celebration of Purim at 7:00 p.m. and to hear the reading of the Megillah.  Please wear your costumes and join in on the fun.  The service will be short and child-friendly, with an ice cream social to follow.<strong><br />

<p><strong>Friday, Jan. 27:  </strong>Erev Shabbat services, led by Susan Bodell, will begin at 8:00 p.m., and will be followed by an Oneg Shabbat sponsored by Sandler and Barbara Dickson, in honor of the yahrzeit of Lillian Levy.</p>
<p><strong>Saturday, Jan. 28:</strong>  Shabbat morning services, featuring a D’var Torah by Susan Bodell, will begin at 9:30 a.m., and will be followed by a Kiddush lunch sponsored by Carol Chenoweth and Ray Chambers.</p>
<p>Following services, we will have a participatory study session, led by Tallahassee Jewish Federation’s new regional Network Consultant, Rachel Alexander. </p>
<p>A graduate of the Solomon Schechter Day School of RI, Rachel was president of Hillel at Brown University.  Rachel worked as a Bronfman Fellow at Hillel International and was the Assistant Director at the Jewish Women’s Archive in Boston.  She returned to graduate school at Columbia University, where she pursued a Masters degree in Public Administration, and she has worked for the UJA Federation of Northern New Jersey for the past 5 years. </p>

<p>Camp Shalom, a local Jewish day camp for pre-K &#8211; 8th grade (sponsored by the Tallahassee Jewish Federation) has been serving Jewish children and their friends for 15 years now! 9th &#8211; 12th graders can be counselors. Join us as we celebrate with a Kick-Off on Sunday, Feb. 26 at 12:30 pm at Temple</p>

<p><strong>Sunday, Jan. 29: </strong><strong>PJ Library Inaugural Event</strong></p>
<p>Children ages 6 months to 6 years are invited to come join us from 3:00 – 5:00 for the inaugural PJ Library event at Shomrei Torah.
